I used nano CuO for coupling reactions. As I realized it is removed from crude product by vfiltration with filter paper. But somebody says in the lab, it can not be removed without column chromatography. Is it really necessary to use silica or celite for filtration nanoparticles? If yes, does celite actively filtrate nano CuO?

Can absorbance reduce scattering noise in fluorescence ?

Hi,

Is it possible that adding a dye to a scattering solution reduces the scattering due to the absorption of the dye ?

The reason I ask is the following:
I'm taking a fluorescence spectra of a dye in a solution of liposomes. As a control I take the fluorescence spectra of the blank solution of liposomes. When I do this I can see a high level of noise due to scattering of the solution. When I add the dye and although the fluorescence of the dye is lower than the scattering noise, the scattering signal is gone. So I'm wondering if the dye is doing something to the liposomes to the point of reducing the scattering or if the dye is just absorbing so much light that the scattering disappear.
